Unit 4 Midpost

Original Photo: painting1.jpg

Two_Young_Men,_Crispin_van_den_Broeck.jpgThis image relates to the picture that I chose as it is made by the same artist.  Just like in the picture that I chose, Crispijn van den Broeckt creates his art with a lot of symbolism.  This artwork, as well as the “Last Judgement” are his only famous art pieces.  This art piece depicts a sexual relationship with its symbolism.

Michelangelo,_Giudizio_Universale_02.jpgThis image relates to the artwork that I chose since this also depicts the Final Judgement that will be made by Jesus.  Both art pieces has parts for Earth, Hell, and Heaven.  Both artworks also depicts the pain and suffering of going to Hell, tranquility and peace for those in Heaven, and confusion and hope for those on Earth.  Also, the ones that are carried to Heaven ar brought up by angels.  Another part of the artwork that is similar are the positions of Heaven, Hell, and Earth; Heaven is on top with Earth on the left and Hell on the right.

116PF1109_005PF1109_5YG3F.jpgFlemish paintings had contents in the realm of fantasy.  This piece, as well as the piece that I chose, are paintings of events that occur in the Bible.  Both events are also of Religious events that occurred, this one being Noah’s ark and my mine being one of the final Judgement made by Christ.  Most of these types of photos also are usually crammed.  This artwork is crammed with animals and “The Last Judgement” is crammed with humans, God, angels, and demons from Hell.

p17h8e1fg21rsb1d8bha47opahh0_41484.pngThis image was created during the Northern Renaissance, just like “The Last Judgement.” Photos made during this time were very detailed as the Northern Renaissance is known for the rapid developments in artwork.  Paintings during this time also had more of a Gothic influence.  This can be shown by the way the women on the left is dressed.
proverbs.jpgNetherlandish refers to the Low Countries, or the coastal region in Western Europe consisting of Belgium and Netherlands.  Netherlandish, however is usually used to define artists and artwork from this region.  Both picture are similar as they are both filled with many people.  Also, just like in “The Last Judgement,” the people on Earth are very active, only involved in their own concerns.
